Analyst Training

Denny Ellison offers a comprehensive training program for equity research analysts. Our mission is to help analysts become more productive and successful in their careers, on both the buy and sell side.

It can take several years of work experience for equity research analysts to become truly productive. Our training program is designed to substantially accelerate their development, enabling them to contribute to the bottom line more quickly.

Our topics of instruction encompass both the “hard” and “soft” skills that are crucial for the role. We offer classroom-style training events as well as one-on-one mentoring sessions.

Subjects include data crunching, model building, forecasting and valuation; creating an investment thesis and making buy/sell recommendations; writing and presenting research notes; working with external parties (such as companies under coverage, sell side analysts or buy side analysts); building relationships internally (with fund managers, heads of research, sales & trading and others); regulatory compliance; and internal career management (including time allocation and finding mentors).

Interview Training

We provide training to help candidates interview successfully for careers in equity research and other branches of finance. We work with students, graduates and career switchers globally. We deliver presentations and workshops at universities and business schools and also work one-on-one with individuals, delivering tailored advice on how to enter the industry.

Our services include describing the different types of interviews that candidates are likely to encounter, giving detailed advice on how to prepare for these interviews, and providing mock interview practice.

Linked to our consulting service is our book How to Get an Equity Research Analyst Job, a comprehensive guide to finding a job in equity research.

Our aim is to prepare our clients thoroughly for their interviews so that they can perform extremely well, with the ultimate aim of getting the jobs they want. We coach you on what to expect and how to prepare.
